AmEx Marathon 2023

Join us for one of the oldest Marathon events in the region. The Bahrain Road Runners Marathon predates the London Marathon! It was inaugurated 1979 to celebrate the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Bahrain. The 1979 BRR Marathon had 15 participants, and was won by Pete Rogers. In 1983 our BRR Vetran Mustafa Fulad became the first Bahraini to complete a full Marathon.

Race Details

• Cut off time: after 5.30 hours from race start time
• Relay Teams Divisions:
  1. Men Relay Team
  2. Women Relay Team
  3. Mixed Relay Team
  4. Corporate Relay Team
• Race time after the cut off time won’t be counted.
• Timing begins when the Runner crosses the start line.

Participant Package Details

• Delivered by courier company to your address in Bahrain, please write your address correctly
• Package will include:

o   Individual: T-Shirt, Bib with Timing Chip Tag, Race Information

o   Relay Team: 4 T-Shirts and 4 Bibs, Race Information

Award Ceremony:

• Individual Marathoner:

o   Trophies and Cash Prizes to Top three overall (Male/Female): 1^st BD300, 2^nd BD200, 3^rd BD100

o   Trophies to Top three finishers in each Age Group (Male/Female): 16-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54,55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+

• Relay Teams:

o   General Relay Teams:

• Men: Trophy to Top Three winners
• Women: Trophy to Top Three winners
• Mixed: Trophy to Top Three winners

Event Rule:

Each race is unique in some form or another. Below are Full Marathon Race specific rules.

Individual:

1. Bib: Bib must we worn for the entire race duration.
2. Timing: The BIB includes in its back the Timing Chip Tag, so it must be worn during the whole race in order to record the timing and be eligible for Winner Trophy.
3. Finisher Medal: Individual participant will be awarded Full Marathon Finisher Medal.

Relay Team:

1. Registration:
   1. Men/Women/Mixed Relay Team: No Corporate Identity is allowed. Social Clubs are welcome.
   2. Corporate Relay Team: Any Registered/Licensed Entity. Corporate name allowed.
2. Bib: Bib must be worn by each Relay Team Member during the entire race.

1. Timing: A timing strap will be supplied to the Team Captain on the day of the race. It must be worn on the ankle of the first relay runner and then passed on to each subsequent runner in the team until the finish line in order to record the timing for the team and be eligible for Winner Trophy. The timing strap must be returned to the Race Organizers after the race.
2. Finisher Medals: Each participant will be awarded Marathon Relay Finisher Medal.
3. Relay teams are only allowed of minimum of 2 Runners and maximum of 4 runners per team.

General Race Instructions:

1. Treat all participants, marshals, volunteers and spectators with respect and courtesy.
2. Participants must wear their BIB facing forward during the race.
3. Headphones are not permitted.
